WE NEED YOU!

Volunteering your time is the single most important contribution that parents, relatives and friends can make to support the Cy-Fair Ironmen.   Much of what happens before, during, and after lacrosse games simply wouldn't happen without the efforts of MANY volunteers.

If you're willing (or can be strong-armed) to contribute your time, please consider the following activities:

Field Prep & Take Down:

Coordinator:  Jim Frye

Difficulty Level:  Easy

Duties include:

set up goals and nets, place cones on field, stripe fields [if needed], make sure there are game and end-line balls, inspect field for debris;

take down goals and nets, pick up cones, end line balls, etc.   [Much easier if JV parents set-up and Varsity parents take-down]

Equipment Managers:

Coordinators: Jim Frye

Difficulty Level:  Easy

Duties include:

Make sure water bottles, field and first-aid equipment are on the field and ready for game time; set up scorers table, etc.

Videographer/Photographer

Coordinator: Richard Mann

Difficulty Level:

semi-easy

Duties include:

videotaping or photographing the games; taking the game tapes and transferring them to video/dvd; uploading photographs to the internet, etc.

Game Time!

Coordinator: Aaron Drake

Announcer

Announce the plays on the field - let your inner Howard Cosell come alive!

Scoreboard:

Duties include: starting and stopping the clock, etc. easy but accuracy is important

Scorer:

Duties include: mark every thing that the spotter calls out, mark penalties, etc - moderately difficult, but accuracy is important - at home games the refs will look to 'the table' for accurate information [You really can't watch the game while scoring]. Training is available

Spotter:

Duties include: 'call' the game to the scorer: ground balls, shots, saves, turn-overs, interceptions, goals, etc. somewhat difficult in the beginning, but gets much easier over time. [Think of this as being a play-by-play announcer].

Training is available

Timer:

Duties include: keeping penalty time, counting down and releasing the player from the penalty box; easy.

Training is available

Water Handler:

Duties include: making sure the water bottles are filled and available to the boys; take the bottles to the boys during time-outs and breaks. Easy, but very important! We need to make sure the boys stay hydrated.

Ball Police:

during each break, and especially at half-time, make sure the end-line balls are left there and/or replaced.

After the Game

Coordinator: Stacie McKay

Website:

Duties include: game write-up [just a short description of the highlights of the game], research our alumni and history of the team.

Of course, there is more than what is listed here! If there is something in particular that you would like to do, contact Richard Mann.
